Pre Production Inspection or First Article Inspection
Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) or First Article Inspection:
Initial Production (Pre Production Inspection) or Production Pre-Qualification is performed when Production starts. This is Pre-Qualification on all machineries, raw materials, components, jigs, tools and fixtures, and materials to be used for mass production, a first step in assuring the Product Quality Assurance throughout Production.
PPI identifies the Quality risks prior Production and is a Risk Assessment and Product Quality Assurance, to enable Production start and assure product conformance and meeting the schedule, to minimize any potential product risks.
The Pre-Production Inspection Checklist includes the Quality Planning for DUPRO and PSI by reviewing the Approved Samples and listing all set up tools available to perform product testing. Lean Compass uses the internationally standard – ANSI/ASQ Standard Z1.4-2008 (ISO 2859-1: 1999) or MIL-STD-105E1 statistical sampling procedure. PPI covers functionality, performance, reliability, appearance, measurement and process conformance.
